Artist's Statement
All my works are a never-ending journey to translate the wondering of our surrounding and our being as human person.
Literally bringing together long-lost materialities and identities. The fringes and fraying of society, alienation. I’m interested in the human condition and our impact on our environment. With paint, needle and thread, graphite and wax, I build these images up layer by layer.
The basis of this making are almost always my drawings. These show us, humans. One softens, the other remains suspicious.
My paintings, which push against a construction beyond painting, also find their roots in my observation of man and his actions.
Some works do not survive my seismic temperament and are boiled alive, mixed and kneaded into a fertile humus for artificial landscapes and slices of bottom pie. They symbolize man’s twisted relationship to his origin, nature.
The search and discovery are paramount. Sewn together, torn and pulled inside out, flaps flap, the yarn is loose or tied. A feast for paleontologists of the curious eye and advocates of wonder.
